COFFEE...it really is an ART!

Coffee…it really is an art
I love coffee.  It is more than a hot beverage to me, it greets me in the morning, it comes with a sense of roots (a part of my family’s tradition), it comes as a time of rest (that break in the day), but for me in my love of all culinary, it comes as “the signature” to a great dining experience.
When a great cup of coffee arrives at my table in a restaurant….I can always sense (or taste) if this establishment cared about the coffee - the selection, the presentation and most especially a rich robust but smooth taste!
At the Kitchens Bounty, we truly care about our coffee….I want to share the adventures of finding that perfect brew for our Kitchen, our Table and our Customers.

The search was on for a Specialty House Blend that we would create with a Local Artisanal Roaster of exquisite coffee beans.  With this goal in mind, we found ourselves in the Test Kitchen with just such a person, Julie Spitzley of  Storm Mountain Coffee Roasters located right here in Huron, Ohio!  As a prelude we invited Julie to join us at the Kitchens Bounty, we discussed blends, taste preferences, preparation style (we both love French Press!) and the ultimate goal:
A coffee that delivers depth, richness, character, and full-body with a velvet delivery.
Yes, I know that is a very tall order!
So we strapped ourselves in, and began a marathon tasting of 10 specialty blends, each of which we “really tasted”. At the conclusion of our tastings, we did arrive (although somewhat AMPED UP!)
The results can now be tasted at the Kitchens Bounty classes, at our future demos/tastings, and soon available for purchase in our Custom 1lb bags….What a way to start the day or end it!
Enjoy my fellow coffee lovers….here is some delicious new fuel for your days and the perfect signature to a great dining experience.  We have arrived!

The 'TEST KITCHEN' gone wild!

Ever wonder what a “TEST KITCHEN” really is.  Well my definition is that it is a Kitchen Laboratory, where recipes are created, tried, retried….then tweaked…and tried again!  Oh, here is what else happens, there is a tremendous amount of “tasting”…okay “eating” going on.
Well,  we were slamming in the Kitchens Bounty Test Kitchen over the last week, including a grilling marathon over the Memorial Weekend.  My job was to be sure that the recipes, we will soon introduce as part of the Gourmand’s Guide for  The Amazing Rub, deliver incredible taste, versatility and delight!
At the very same time we have a mantra…we insist that our foods look fabulous!  Wow, this is almost as much work and effort as getting dressed for your favorite date!   Okay, so we cooked, we grilled, we tasted, and then we did it again, over and over!  (Do any of you feel any sympathy for this woman who gets to do what she LOVES?!?)  Some of our recipes include Turkey Burgers with a Ying and Yang Attitude (serve it with our Thai Sweet and Sassy Chili Sauce Recipe)this is pictured below, You Pull It Pork, and the Amazing Seared Salmon Plank!

·         The Results…a rocking, fabulous, and delicious guide for The Amazing Rub.  We love it, we hope you will too!  Look for the posting of our Free on-line Gourmand’s Guide for The Amazing Rub….and stay tuned all of my fellow Coffee Lovers…we had a coffee tasting this week, (which  I will soon share)  that was out of this world! Under the guide of a knowledgeable and talented  local Coffee Roaster,  we have come up with The Kitchens Bounty Signature Blend…10 final tastings….and enough coffee ingested to almost call 911…we will post the story soon…Terri

You named it..."The Amazing Rub"!

New Jars of "The Amazing Rub" in Old Fashion Glasses....
(collect them!)

Presents come at all times of the year and in our life.  They come on the Holidays, Birthdays...and sometimes random acts of kindness.  I received a present today that brought me much joy and I want to celebrate with you.  We took receipt of our first shipment of our newly launched "Amazing Rub".  We have been self producing this unique seasoning and have done many demos..because we use it in our Kitchens all the time.
"The Amazing Rub" is the KB's unique blend of herbs and spices that envelope and caramelize whatever bounty you are grilling (okay cooking, searing, sauteing, baking...you get it!)  This product derived its name from the comments of our many guest, who would exclaim "This is Amazing!"
Honestly, it is just that good.
My favorite application is Salmon...it took this wonderful fish and elevated it to my go-to meal.
It always delivers, it always thrills.
So friends, take this walk with me, we went from this:
to this:

New Jars of The Amazing Rub...my present for you!

Bridgade de Cuisine

The Bridgade de Cuisine is in full force here at The Bounty! We had a wonderful comment from a recent guest that said "the team is so in step with each other...it felt like a symphony!".  A better compliment I couldn't image (from a group of dedicated music lovers).  I will tell you what I love from my seat, that as much fun as the Kitchens Bounty Team has orchestrating our cooking classes and specialty events...we see the look on our guest face, we hear the comments of "oh this is delicious" and we love it just as much!

Our concept of running our cooking programs akin to the "Chef's Table" at a great restaurant is working just fine...join us and you will definitely get more then cuisine...you will get a show!
Put us on your Summer calendar... (Photo above - May event with Terri, Nathan and Dori)
